Looking for a more physical take on creativity? ASAH is proud affiliate of the Gustavo Machado Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Academy and currently offers instruction in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu for children, teens and adults!

Professor Charles Reid is a Black Belt under Gustavo Machado. Professor Gustavo Machado is a 5th Degree Black Belt under the legendary Professor Robeto “Gordo” Correa. Beyond that, our lineage traces to Carlos Gracie Jr.,  Jean Jacques Machado, Carlos Gracie Sr., and finally Mitsuo “Count Koma” Maeda. We are thankful for the privilege of taking part in this distinguished martial arts legacy and look forward to sharing our love of Jiu-Jitsu with the Bulverde/Spring Branch community.

Join us for training in the “gentle art” as we learn practical and effective self-defense techniques, get stronger and faster through rigorous conditioning, and grow in our confidence through consistent drilling and application of techniques. Unlike many martial arts that focus on striking as the primary method of both attack and defense, Jiu Jitsu is a grappling art-form emphasizes neutralizing the threat of the opponent through the effective application of leverage, momentum, joint locks, chokes and other submissions.
